Beaver Trapper Catches 62-Pound Beaver Near Palmer
BEAVER Are Johnson of Pomeroy trapped a 62 pound beaver in a nap near Palmer. The trap was set near a tile and the beaver pulled it back into the tile after being caught. Beavers normally weigh 35 to 40 pounds.

Red Rock Valley police reported a two car collision at Highway 18 and an icy intersection. Edwin J. Schmidt stopped at the sign while John Meerbeek Jr. attempted a right turn from the east and skidded, damaging Schmidt’s car about 75 dollars with no damage to Meerbeek’s and no summons issued.

Fishing Regulations Approved by Iowa Conservation Commission
The Iowa Conservation Commission approved the 1969 70 fishing regulations at its January meeting. Earl Rose presented the regulations. New rules take effect March 1 1969 with inland natural lakes opening for walleyes sauger and northern pike fishing on May 8. Other regulations remain the same as the last season.
