Northwest Town Choral Festival at Cherookee High School
Saturday at 7 30 p m the Northwest Town Choral Association festival will be held at Cherookee high school auditorium. Students Mary De Bey Mary Van Zee Dennis Hamann and Conrad Burgers will participate with two parts. Dr Page of Temple University will direct and two of his works will be performed. Tickets via choral director Loren Pinkerman with Friday Feb 11 deadline.

Attemas sell Valley Motel to Henry De Jong
Mr and Mrs Art Attema announced the sale of the Valley Park Motel to Henry De Jong of rural Rock Valley. The Attemas and John Van Zanten built a six unit motel in 1959 and later expanded. De Jong will take over management March 1 as the Artemas move to their former home presently occupied by Mr and Mrs Larry Bombett.

Dr Yates to Open Office in Former Inn Spot
Remodeling of the Red Fork Inn quarters beside Valley State bank progresses rapidly and should be ready within a week to house Dr Yates MD. He plans to start his practice in Rock Valley soon. Dr Yates and family reside in Hawarden and will stay there until spring break and school closes. The project includes X ray and laboratory rooms a dark room and office space.

A damaged report details a hospital fundraiser auction drawing a full house Friday night. Despite disappointments as many lots failed to be bargains, the event boosted the hospital fund by about $6,000, with items selling high and long bidding. The approximate grand total now stands around $221,000.
Rock Valley Bee Standard Tank wins team event at bowling tournament
In the Rock Valley Bee Standard Tank team won the team event scoring 2832. Beverly Boon Allene Henderson Madonna Plueger Jo Milley and Janet Van Cort were shown left to right. Gladys Miller won the singles with 567 and is a Farmers Lumber member. Sally Timmer and Betty Schemmer of Thornburg won the doubles 1050. Gert Jonker, for Hatchery, totaled 1563 to win all events. Five handicapped students from Hope Haven toured Van's Market with instructor Mrs Jeanette Van Egdem. The Womens City Bowling Association completed its annual city tournament at Valley Lanes with Standard Tank, Valley Lanes and G H Hatchery among top teams.
