A capacity audience enjoyed a wedding gown show with forty four gowns modeled by brides and friends last Wednesday. Gowns ranged from six months to 66 years in age. Awards honored best gowns in three classes, oldest dress, most unusual gown, and most attractive gown, with multiple participants and sponsors noted.

Auto Mishap Causes $350 in Damages on Ky 14th Street

James P. Jones Gets 10 Years On Robbery Charge
James Paul Jones aged 24 pleaded guilty to robbery and was sentenced by Judge Edward F. Kennedy to ten years in the Fort Madison Iowa Penitentiary. Welcome Wagon honors Hoogendoorns in Rock Valley

Local Grain Dealers Convened in Des Moines Iowa
Local men from Farmers Elevator Company and Farmers Grain Dealers Association of Iowa attended the 4th annual convention in Des Moines January 29 30. About 2009 rural Iowans registered for the two day event where FGDA leaders reported a rise to over four million bushels purchased and discussed marketing cooperatives to improve farm prices. Speakers included Charles Hanson Carl Davis and representatives from Cooperatives Regions Fort Dodge and FEMIQ. Wives enjoyed a luncheon at Younkers Tea Room and a KSNT Theater entertainment finale.

All Electric Farm Equipment Show planned for Sioux City
A 8 day All-Electric Farm Equipment Show opens at the Sioux City Auditorium from Tuesday to Thursday February 6 to 8 hosted by Iowa Public Service Company with Free admission. More than 59 exhibitors from across the United States will display electric machinery including mixers water systems and barn cleaners. An estimated 16 000 farmers are expected to attend.
