Delegates will attend district and state events including West Okoboji Camp, girls and boys district camps, and the State Leadership Conference. Kindergarten Round-Up Set For 1968–69 School Year

Major Maurice TePaske's 4965 Dodge was among sight cars tied to a theft spree in Sioux Center last week. A Rock Valley officer traced the report to the county recreation area along the Rock River north of town. A park search recovered the car hidden in a week patch at the park’s north end.

Sioux Farm Activity Reports Sparse Field Work and Rain Variability
Farm activity this past week was limited to plowing and fertilizer. Since April 1 county rainfall ranges 2 to 9 inches with the southeast and east halves receiving less than the west. Heaviest rain 2 inches occurred early April in the northwest corner. Surface moisture is adequate but subsoil moisture is largely absent, risking summer crops. Expect scattered corn planting April 22 27 if weather improves and a rise in corn acres with reduced tillage. Farmers using corn following corn should apply a soil insecticide for Western corn rootworm larvae control.
City Cases and Reckless Driving Near Rock Valley
Court listings show multiple defendants from Doon Hawarden and Rock Valley facing charges. Milling on Main Ave drew fines of 10 dollars and costs for several residents. Reckless driving cases against Harvard A Voeburg and James John Valli Beek each carry 25 to 26 dollars and costs. Improper packing and parking fines appear for Henry Ter wee and Gilbert Van Holland.

Men’s Golf League to Start Next Tuesday at RV Course
The league begins Tuesday April 20 with three starting times 4 00 5 00 and 6 00. New players must complete two practice rounds to establish handicaps and old players use last year’s averages. Damages in Two-Car Rock Valley Mishap
Rock Valley police report about 350 in damages after a Sunday night collision. Gary Van Beek 16 driving a 1968 Pontiac struck a parked Vernon Postma car in front of the Christian Relocated Church. Van Beek was cited for distraction. Postma vehicle damage estimated at 100 and Van Beek’s at 250.
