Plaza Garfield Homemakers Hold Easter Meeting in Rock Valley
Plaza Garfield Homemakers met Tuesday afternoon touring Hope Haven school in Rock Valley with Mr De Jager explaining work with children. The group gathered at Mrs Will Schoep’s home with co host Mrs Fred Vogelzang. Seated by the president Mrs Hans Moeller the meeting opened with prayer and a poem. Easter songs were sung and 15 women answered roll call with Easter Fralms. Visitors included the Raymond Miller family at Amanda Miller’s Hudson South Dakota home and the Winterfelds at Emil Winterfeld’s. Joe Fath funeral attended by Tom De Beer and Wm Gayer at Flanarein South Dakota. Easter day meals hosted by multiple families including Marvin Moon, Rudolph Theisen, Kenneth Pruny, Irene Winterfeld, Walter Moore, and others in nearby communities.

Winners named in REC speech contest
Margaret Gaul of Alton won first in the Electric Youth Tour Speaking contest held April 4 at the Sioux Electric Cooperative Association office in Orange City. She will join 77 Iowa youths on the 8th annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. June 4 to 12. Second and third place were Peggy Kosters and Helen Van Heuvelen, who will take a one day bus trip to Fort Randall and Gavins Point Dams in June.
