Richter Seeks Democratic Nomination for SD 1st District

Services Held for Albert Pap Amid Funeral Details
Albert Pap aged 65 died recently and services were held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home and 1:30 p.m. at First Reformed Church. Honey B. Poppen officiated with burial at East Lawn Cemetery Sheldon. Pap was born December 24, 1909, in Hull and farmed near Sheldon before retiring to Rock Valley. Survivors include widow Jane, four daughters Gerlad Bimkinsii, Alton. Thomas De Jong, Duncomb. Wayne Arends, Duncomb. Calvin Lode, Sheldon. three sons Delmar A., Laverne, Minn. John H., Salt Lake City. Kenneth R., Onawa. three sisters and three brothers. The band, under Larry Mitchell, earned an I rating.

Education Board hires two teachers for coming year
The Board of Education issued contracts to Richard Dean Vanderloo to teach history social science and head basketball and track. Vanderloo is a Mondayside College graduate and lives in Sioux City. Linda Rust Bjerk, graduate of Augustana College from Trwood, was hired to teach English and declamation under Mr Pinkerman.

VFW to Scotch Bicycles at South Side Service Stop

Mrs G Bowers Dies at Alton
Funeral services for Mrs George Bowers 68 were held Saturday April 23 at St Marys Catholic church in Alton. She had been ill only a few days and died just before 7:00 am April 20. Mrs Bowers was remembered in Rock Valley as the wife of George E Bowers former publisher and owner of The Rock Valley Bee and co publisher of the Alton Democrat. Attendants included Wir and rs Emmett Scanlan and Mrs Betty Schemsier at the funeral in Alton.
