Sioux Electric Coop receives National Safety Council Merit Award
Sioux Electric Cooperative Manager Eugene C Mulder announced the 1965 National Safety Council Safety Award of Merit after 37 000 man hours with no lost time accident that year and nearly 490 000 hours since May 1952. The award is hard to win with fewer than 10 percent of plants earning it. a plaque will arrive soon to join existing honors.

Safety training and Safe Driving Awards at Iowa electric cooperatives
The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives Safety Department holds regular safety meetings and periodic trainings for employees. Most staff hold First Aid cards with several certified instructors. In January, Safe Driving Awards were given to 12 employees totaling 155 years of safe driving without a chargeable on the job accident, defined as an accident where the operator is at fault.
