Health bureau amendment to steel tariff bill considered
Washington January 27 The senate public health committee adopted an amendment creating a department of public health to provide the bureau and to ban discrimination against any school of medicine or healing methods. Further action postponed. The steel tariff bill moved in the House with debate halted by a record vote and a plan to forward to the Senate committee next Monday. Henry of the House Rules pressed for a sane open inquiry into the money trust and urged no evasive or secret dealings by trustees of the people now in Congress.
