Pittsburg Pennsylvania reports Frank Ridgeway director of the department of public safety and a familiar figure with the United States weather bureau died today of typhoid pneumonia. He was a 33d degree Mason.
Frederick H. Cok ville was found guilty in federal court of using the mails to promote a fraudulent mining scheme. He bought a worthless mine at Salida, organized the Boston Colorado Mining Company with a $1,000,000 capital, and sold stock at 25 and 50 cents a share. The verdict calls for imprisonment up to four and a half years or a $1,500 fine.
New York December 31 The Tribune summarizes that 57 919 people were killed or injured in accidents during the year 35 612 killed and 22 307 injured The Anaconda Copper Mining Company directors declare a quarterly dividend of 50 cents a share a 75 cent cut from the previous quarter
