Homecoming Day Marks Pierce’s Camp Ground Reopening

Pierce's Methodist Church reopened for worship last Sunday drawing about three hundred attendees. Rev. C. T. Thrift preached on the baptism of the Holy Ghost and praised its role in the church. A bountiful grove dinner followed, with an afternoon program including addresses by W. L. Knight and Ovid W. Pierce Sr. The day featured historic readings, hymns, and comments by former members. The offering neared seventy dollars and a vote established the first Sunday of September as permanent Homecoming Day. Evangelistic services proceed this week.
