Wreck Car Stolen Here By Local Teens

Two local teenagers Leonard Moseley and Auburn Warick are free on $500 bond each awaiting Halifax County Superior Court term opening Monday on charges of stealing and wrecking a new Dodge. They allegedly took the car from in front of Ray's Place on Roanoke Avenue last Saturday, turning it over two or three times near Belmont. Deputy Sheriff C F Gray arrested them as he passed the scene.

Health Festival at Aurelian Springs School

A health festival is planned for Friday November 28 at Aurelian Springs School from 1 45 p m to about 10 p m. Dr H W Brown of the University of North Carolina will speak at 7 30 p m as the feature, with speakers including Dr Robert F Young County Health Officer Mrs Ray Bowers Dr Walter Wilkins State Health Department Supt W C Matthews Halifax County Schools and Miss MacVeigh Hutchison State nurse. The program begins with an opening song by parents and pupils and Matthews will give opening remarks. Wilkins will show pictures with his commentary. Seventh grade pupils will participate after the pictures.

Manslaughter Cases On Docket For Trial Superior Court Term

Judge Harris Heads Two Week Halifax Superior Court Docket

Judge W. Harris of Raleigh will preside over a two week mixed term of Superior Court convening in Halifax. The docket opens with manslaughter charges against B. S. Kirkland and William Jones over the death of Blanche Walston, a 11 year old of Scotland Neck, struck by a car driven by Jones and owned by Kirkland. Also set for trial is J. Winfield Crew on embezzlement and fraud charges. Jurors listed include residents of Enfield Roanoke Rapids Murfreesboro and Scotland Neck among others.
