South Rosemary school hosted a Halloween party raising forty dollars for equipment. Students attended the Aurelian Springs Fair and won two first prizes on a new track. A Community Picture Show directed by Miss Washburn impressed locals, though support declined. Oscar Edmondson moved to Enfield. illness cases include Temple Pearson and scarlet fever in others.

A Wake Forest College Varsity vs. Norfolk Blues football game is planned at the ball park with a free barbecue for ex soldiers and Confederate veterans.
Mrs William Pearce hosted a Hallowe en party on Gibbs Ave Saturday with dancing and about 16 guests. Miss Kara Parrish visited Miss Reva Binford and attended a camp supper at Panacea Friday night. The Local Talent Dramatic Club plans a Thanksgiving near the holiday. The Christian Endeavor to hold a special meeting Wednesday night followed by a camp supper. Hollister students earned four first prizes and five seconds at the Aurelian Springs Fair last week. A double header basketball game at the P M saw Hollister boys and girls win. Community moving pictures set for Nov 8.
Mrs Feichtl s Tyrolean Yodlers performed as the third Redpath Lyceum program piece in the Central School Auditorium last night in vivid costume. The concert featured folk songs from their homeland and the sunny south plus solo and duet numbers on Alpine instruments. Applause indicated broad audience approval with many calling it the best of the season.
The voting was peaceful in Rosemary and Roanoke Rapids precincts with Democratic tickets at national state and county levels receiving overwhelming majorities. Republicans offered no county ticket and few votes went to Republicans. county officers all drew similar totals. Local returns were posted at the Herald window.
Aurelian Springs reports a cooperative county fair with help from Hollister New Hope Bear Swamp and South Rosemary. Miss Leatherwood and Supervisor lead efforts. On Oct 27 a basketball game Hollister vs Aurelian Springs drew a near even score with Hollister edging ahead.

The electric bell signal ordered for Roanoke Junction crossing was installed this week and connected Thursday. It will ring continuously while trains occupy certain blocks, enhancing safety amid rising traffic at the point.

The North Carolina Red Cross State Conference met October 26 27 1920 in Raleigh at the State Capitol. Roanoke Rapids was represented by Mrs C A Wyche Mrs J M Jackson and Rev Stanley White. One hundred two people attended from thirty five chapters the largest southern conference turnout. The Roll Call dates were set for November 11 25 with Roanoke Rapids and Rosemary to host an intensive date during that period.
The Parent-Teacher Association met in the Central School Auditorium with Mrs. C. A. Wyche presiding. Miss Crisp demonstrated first grade music teaching. Mrs. George Taylor and Miss Rose were chosen to represent the association at the State PTA in Greensboro. A Roanoke Rapids unit of the State Teachers Assembly was organized with five delegates elected for Asheville.
The Woman's Club of Roanoke Rapids and Rosemary will entertain teachers of the Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools District tonight from 8 to 10 at the Central School Auditorium. Everyone above age 16 is invited to attend to meet the teachers.
The Woman's Auxiliary of All Saints Church announces its annual bazaar on December 11. The venue will be announced later.
Local Rosemary notices list visitors from Goldsboro Henderson Raleigh Richmond Norfolk Weldon and Oxford. The community shares church activities including a pastor sermon at the Methodist Church and the Ladies Guild meeting.
Rosemary school children formed the Wide Awake Savings Society led by secretary William Batton and saved 250 dollars in thrift stamps since last June. Fifteen youths averaged more than 16 dollars each, showing active participation in a moving savings program set to continue with Treasury plans from last year.
