Mrs John D Blount announces the marriage of her sister Mrs Annie Howerton Gowen to Job Taylor. The couple will reside in Roanoke Rapids after March. Taylor, president of the fax Paper Corporation, is well known in Halifax and Rocky Mount communities.
The Army opens remaining branches Infan try Coast Artillery Corps of Engineers Field Artillery and others to one year or three year enlistments with stations across the continental U S. Mrs Nora I Dobbin wife of Chief of Police Horace F E Dobbin died Tuesday at her Rosemary home after influenza developed into pneumonia. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 30 p m from the Baptist Church with Rev A G Carter and Rev Lewis M Taylor officiating. burial in local cemetery. Survived by husband and son Haskell, parents two sisters Mable and Ruby Moore and four brothers M E Moore Portsmouth Westley M Exum Percy Moore Rosemary, with out of town attendees listed.

A devoted member of Smith's M E Church, she was honored by neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be held this afternoon by Rev C M Lanee, with burial in a private cemetery near her home.
