Mayor Kelly Jenkins announced that Roanoke Rapids will receive a 130 909 federal grant for street paving, covering 45 percent of a 290 000 project. The city voted 20 to a bond for street work, and plans shift to concrete paving with a 20 year life, awaiting the Board of Commissioners meeting to finalize procedures.
