New Press Arrives for Roanoke Rapids News Plant
The first truck load of equipment for the thirty two page press that will print The North Carolina Weekly News and Roanoke Rapids Herald arrived Thursday morning. Additional trucks will follow as workmen prepare the Roanoke Avenue and Second Streets site for the press room. The Herald keeps its composing room at 8 East Second Street and will retain existing machinery while new equipment is added. Offices will be upstairs in the building.

Three Roanoke Rapids youths held for June court on robbery charges
LeRoy Prince Flavous Clary and O Neal Stanly aged 17 to 20 were taken into custody by Roanoke Rapids police last Friday in connection with breaking and entering and robbing six stores. They waived preliminary hearing and were jailed in Halifax County on bonds totaling 900 dollars each. Jay remained incompliant at late Thur, unable to post bond and also jailed.

Reveal Lobbyists Active In Passing New Divorce Bills
Preston Satterfield Roxboro lumberman paid two Roxboro lawyers 456.80 to lobby in the 1933 General Assembly for one divorce bill easing separation rules. Lunsford 351.80 and Carlton 105 worked for a second bill removing aggrieved party limits. Solicitor J. C. Little received 500 for lobbying late in the session.
