Fitts Appointed Roanoke Rapids Plumbing Inspector
Henry Fitts, known as a city electrician and beetle bug catcher, was named Roanoke Rapids plumbing inspector by a joint session of the Sanitary District Board and City Council. The appointment takes effect immediately and all city plumbing work now requires a permit.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday August 27 for Richard G. Myrick 41 year old Roanoke Rapids contractor who died at his Hornertown home Wednesday evening after a week long illness. He is survived by his wife Eva and five children Valene Francis J B David and Elizabeth Virginia Myrick and numerous relatives. Interment will follow in Macon Cemetery Macon NC conducted by Rev J E Kirk of the Baptist Church.

Grand Jury Names Guardians at Fault in Halifax County
