Dolton to Erect Signs on Chicago Street and Lincoln Avenue

Dolton Village Board met September 19 with all members present except Trustee Schubert. They approved a $632 contract with Production Pattern Company to erect 34 street signs on Chicago Street and Lincoln Avenue, plus five Watch Stop and Go signs and six railroad warnings, to be installed on galvanized posts embedded in concrete.

Lutheran Parish Building Nearing Completion

Evangelical Lutheran Parish building on 138th street nears completion after long construction. Plasterers and masons apply finishing touches and interior finishers will begin soon. Occupancy expected by November first.

Resignation of Local Telephone Exchange Head

Mrs. Charles O'Connor, in charge of the local telephone exchange for four years and six months, has resigned due to health. The exchange grew subscribers from 300 to 1100, a near fourfold increase in business, under her tenure. She will travel to Greenwich, Connecticut, for rest with her mother. successor's name has not been announced.

Mrs Mary Michalski Dies In Chicago After 41 Years Riverdale Resident

Mrs. Mary Michalski aged 69 years 2 months 15 days died at her daughter’s home in Chicago on Sept 17. Born in Bromberg Germany she leaves six sons John Joseph Frank Otto Anthony and Henry and two daughters Mary and Anna. Services were held at St Mary's Catholic church and interment was at St Benedict's cemetery Blue Island.

Mrs Heinke of Riverdale Dead at 67

Mrs. Fred Heinke Hedwig Heinke died at her Riverdale home on Thursday morning age 67 after a nine month illness. She is survived by her husband, son Alfred of Dalton, daughters Elsie Sprehlow of Milwaukee and Gretchen of Riverdale. Funeral from 300 West 138th Street to Oakwood Cemetery at 2 PM Saturday September 24.
