Ten-Pound Mammoth Tooth Found Near Chicago Heights
J H Knapp of Chicago Heights found a ten pound mammoth tooth measuring ten by five and a half by four inches. Field Museum experts verified the specimen, larger than any in their collection. Knapp discovered it while digging for d lama along a creek southeast of Chicago Heights and plans further explorations. The tooth will be exhibited at Chicago Weights High School.
