Old I C Conductor John Dolan Dies at 67

John Dolan died after a short illness at his home on Ontario Avenue aged 67. He served 39 years with Illinois Central suburban trains and never had an accident. Dolan was a Royal League council No 6 member and is survived by his wife Ellen and six children. He was known to Riverdale and Dalton patrons as conductor on the daily 2 38 northbound train.

Wan Run Wins Dr. McLeod Silver Cup in Sunday Race

Herman Horn received a Tuesday letter stating the Wan Run won the Dr. McLeod silver cup in the race from South Chicago to Tour ist Park and back on Sunday Oct. 9. The cup trophy is described as beautiful and Horn is happy. The list of boats and points follows.

Riverdale Improvement Association backs Democratic drainage trustees

The Riverdale Improvement Association voted unanimously for Democratic drainage trustees. President Robert McCormick pledged six years ago to promptly build the Calumet Canal, but residents view the current plan as a pre election stall and refuse to be hoodwinked. The association plans to press the village board on the whistle nuisance and will hold a smoker banquet at the next meeting.
