Committees from ten southern suburbs met at the Blue Island Elks Club to organize a non political body representing Evergreen Park Calumet City Burnham Dalton South Holland Riverdale Alsip Posen Midlothian Markham Robbins Harvey to push sewerage drainage and pollution solutions with the Sanitary District of Chicago. Dr Blodgett and attorney John C Lowe outlined benefits and urged concrete presentations to the Sanitary Board as the group seeks to restore the Desplaines River basin and raise property values and health.

Riverdale youth injured in train collision near 159th street
August Kleinfelder 20 son of Mr and Mrs Gottfried Kleinfelder of 13300 Prairie Avenue Riverdale was seriously injured last Friday evening when struck by a Southeastern southbound train on the single track line at 159th St between South Holland and Harvey. He drove the car and was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital Harvey with several broken ribs and a broken arm and leg. He is employed by Chicago and Riverdale Lumber Co and is reported progressing as well as could be expected.
