Dal ton Village Board Awards Contracts For Water And Sewer Work
The Dal ton Village Board of Local Improvements awarded two contracts totaling 45 821 25 for street and utility work on Woodlawn avenue and nearby streets. A sewer project contract of 33 453 75 went to O'Brien Brothers Construction Co while the water system was let to Robert O Livers for 12 367 60. Other bids ranged up to 35 389 75 for sewer work and 14 342 20 for water. A public hearing on Improvement No 41 was set for November 5 amid court appeals and proposed rework of the Sibley boulevard area. The engineer's estimate stands at 116 646 29.

Another Sewer For Calumet River
A new sewer system costing about 75000 dollars begins in Harmon's New Roseland subdivision and flows into the Calumet river at Parnell with a four foot outlet. The project serves New Roseland No 1 including Parnell Emerald Union Lowe Wallace Normal and Eggleston avenues plus 129th place 128th street 127th place 128th place and the alley south of Blue Island road. It features 102 manholes 53 catch basins and one concrete bulkhead. Mancini and Ventrella are the contractors under the supervision of William Lee.

Otto Wielgorecki’s Cadillac stolen from his curb last Monday night was found the next Wednesday morning two blocks east of Chicago Heights. The car was stripped of bumpers battery generator rope tools headlights and three new tires with three old tires left behind. It is seen on the street again awaiting service.

Peanut Kernel Causes Infant Death in Calumet
Shirley Jane Jager aged 1 of 32 West 128th Street died after choking on a peanut kernel from a candy bar. Initial recovery gave way to a fatal strangling spell. post mortem found a peanut kernel lodged in the lung.
