Dolton Board Advances Forest Avenue Sidewalks and Paving Plan

Dolton Board meets with full attendance led by President Harris. It votes to advertise bids for paving Park Polk and Jefferson streets in Maurer subdivision between Chicago street and the C E I Ry and Fredericka street and the Pennsylvania R R. The village aims to complete a broad paving program to rank among America's most fully paved communities. The committee urges early sidewalk work on Forest avenue and 138th street before frost, noting delays from Kanawha avenue completion and legal time limits allowing property owners to lay their own walks. Monroe street will receive temporary cinder surfacing as full paving is impossible this year. A high valve box at Lincoln and Main will be lowered after an automobile collision. The railway will curb smoke nuisances, and a shed at the village hall rear will be moved by contractor D Andrea with House Mover Van Der Aa. Partial payments for sewer projects and ewer work are approved. The board adjourns to Oct 24.
