Taxes Go Back Funds Anticipation Warrants Issued

Riverdale village board met Tuesday with all members present. Bills totaling 1517.34 were deemed an overpayment of county and township taxes and an ordinance authorized anticipation tax warrants for 75 percent of the 1927 tax return to cover current obligations. The board discussed retiring a 3000 note used for the village fire truck and associated interest.

Mrs. Frank Pietsch Sr of Riverdale died Thursday night after a two weeks illness from heart trouble. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St. Marys church conducted by Father Liebreich.

Lutheran Parish Plans Dedication Of New Building

Rev Kemnitz of St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran church says the formal dedication of the new parish building will be on November 20. The structure includes school classrooms an auditorium with portable chairs that convert to a gym and four bowling alleys in the basement. Death of William Dahlman in Oak Glen community

William H. Dahlman died Friday at Ingalls Memorial Hospital Harvey Illinois after illness of cancer of the gall bladder. Born October 17 1859 in Dalton Illinois he spent most of life in the Calumet area. Survived by wife Wilhelmina Volbrecht three daughters and five sons, a sister two grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral held Monday at the family home and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church Oak Glen with interment in Oakland cemetery.

William Lotz the contractor was called to Springfield to bail for his employee Mr. Baker of Harvey a crane operator. A confidence man passed bad checks in Champaign Urbana Decatur and Springfield with a plate matching Baker’s. Baker has a full alibi being home from the hospital.
