Woman's Relief Corps District Convention in Dalton

The annual District Convention will be held at the Dalton Masonic Hall on Friday October 19 1928 with G W Spencer Corps members urged to attend. It opens at 9 AM with noon dinner by Circle Ladies of Immanuel Church and a practice session next Tuesday at 1 30 PM.

Former Dolton official explains that after turning over books in May 1928 the Auditing Committee issued a receipt confirming balanced books. A May 15 1928 letter from R F Albrecht asserts books were balanced. Dolton finance committee certifies village collector and treasurer books correct with $81,499.39 balance.

Surprise Party Honors Henry Waterman in Los Angeles Visit

Henry Waterman of Los Angeles visited his brothers William Charles and Fred and other relatives in his old neighborhood when more than thirty family members and friends gathered at the Charles Waterman home on a surprise party. The evening featured old songs, a fine lunch, and a long, joyful gathering lasting into the early hours. Waterman, now retired, plans to return to his Los Angeles home, a city described as full of flowers sunshine and dreams.

Walter Monk of Monk and Locker and Miss Hilda Schneeweis of Peotone were married in Kankakee Illinois on Tuesday. The groom previously lived in Peotone. After a three week stay in Foxhome Minnesota the couple will reside in the remodeled former Masonic club house on Chicago street Dalton.

Miss Lorraine Potts of Dalton and Mr Russell R Hughes of Harvey were married Saturday October 6 at 4 30 in the afternoon by Rev William Vance of Harvey at the bride's home. Albrecht Couple Celebrate 40th Wedding Anniversary

Mr and Mrs Wm J Albrecht celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last Saturday. Their sons Louis Arthur Henry and Robert and daughter Hattie and many relatives gathered at A O A W Hall Dalton for the celebration. They received a radio set and other gifts. Music dancing and refreshments were enjoyed into the early hours.

Two Harvey Women Die In Fog Shattered Car Collision

Mrs Louis Paulsen and Mrs Dorothea Koeb died in a Sunday morning accident near Halsted and 171st streets when a Ford coupe struck their car after foggy conditions. Paulsen and Koeb were pronounced dead at the scene or en route, while Paulsen's father-in-law, John Greve, was seriously injured. Roy DeWest of Crete led the other vehicle to safety, and a bus later struck the Paulsen party.
