Dolton village board convened to discuss hiring another night and day officer but deferred action due to finances as Finance Chairman Schubert urged holding to audit acceptance. An executive session with Ernst & Ernst and former Village Collector Albrecht was planned to resolve any deficiencies in the audit.

Marriage Announcement of Dorothy Wind and Alfred Storms

An announcement from Worcester Massachusetts reports the marriage of Dorothy Wind daughter of the Rev and Mrs Wind to Alfred P Storms of Worcester on Wednesday. Wind known in Dalton and Riverdale from her years with St Pauls Lutheran church. The couple departed for the Thousand Islands after the ceremony.

Minute Men to Host Homecoming at Washington Park Race Track

The Minute Men of the Golden Gate Area announce a homecoming and harvest day on Saturday afternoon October 13 at Washington Park Race Track near Homewood. Pohlers Injured in Auto Accident on Lincoln Avenue

A. O. Pohlers of 544 Main Street Dalton was struck by a Whippet sedan on Lincoln Avenue opposite the Hahn home Tuesday evening. He suffered a broken shoulder, a break in the small bone of the right leg, and head gashes. Removed to Roseland Community Hospital, he is progressing nicely. The car was driven by two Lansing boys as Pohlers attempted to cross the street.

Ivanhoe Woman's Club hosts bridge banco party and talks

The Ivanhoe Woman's Social Club held a Tuesday bridge and banco with hosts Mrs W Eaton Mrs Geo Geilhufe Mrs H Elle and Mrs C Wunder. Prizes went to Mrs Eaton and Mrs O'Donnell. A meeting is set for October 9 at 1 80 at Mrs W Woosnam's home with talks by Mr Hamilton of the Chicago World's Fair on October 8.

Dal ton Woman Dies After Paralytic Stroke

Mrs. Thomas George, 56, wife of Thomas George of 418 Washington Street Dalton, died suddenly Sunday morning at home following a paralytic stroke. The remains were taken Sunday evening to Fayetteville, Tennessee, for burial. In addition to her husband, several children are left to mourn her untimely loss.

Judge Jarecki to Stage Mock Election Play in Dalton

Judge Jarecki of the County Court will present The Mock Election at Lincoln Avenue School Dalton on Thursday evening October 11 at 8 o’clock. Bowling League Opens at St Pauls Church Alleys

The St Pauls church bowling league launches with four teams from last year, a full fall and winter schedule, and added players. Shell Gas defeats the American Legion and Hausman Colts beat the Legion in opening matches. Clarence Simnick posts 257 for the Legion, with Bowse and Schlieman also posting high scores as teams prepare for weekly Monday contests.

Miss Margaret Earle Weds Arthur Waterman in Fayetteville

Miss Margaret Earle daughter of Mr and Mrs Fount Earle of Fayetteville Arkansas married Friday September 21 at her parents home. Arthur Ernest Waterman son of Mr and Mrs Fred Waterman of Dalton attended by Elmer Waterman as best man and Miss Mary Earle as bridesmaid. Dolton Library Announces 1928 29 Hours and Location

The Dolton Community Library will open during 1928 29 with Tuesday and Thursday sessions 3 30 to 4 30 p m and Wednesday evening 6 30 to 7 30 p m. Close Season Honors for Local Supers at League Banquet

The Ivanhoe Supers finish 16-4 with an 800 percent and set home and team records. They lost their final game 5-3 to Lansing A C but hold the league lead, winning 11 of 12 home games. They hold most runs scored and fewest scoreless games alongside Chicago Heights Hardings. The banquet in late October will honor champions with pennant and trophy.

Legion Observes Armistice Day Parade Banquet

Paul Gall Post plans Armistice Day events in Dalton on November 11. A parade will form at Lincoln Avenue School, with an outdoor program at Riverdale Park and a concluding banquet. Amplifiers will relay addresses from prominent speakers announced later to the large gathering.
