Riverdale Trustee Selvig Chairs Streets and Alleys Panel
Riverdale Village Trustee Robert Selvig leads the Streets and Alleys and Sidewalk committees. He notes 60,000 in motor fuel tax funds for arterial street improvements and ongoing traffic signal upgrades at Halsted and 138th, 144th and Halsted, and 4th in Indiana. He cites wider 144th Street project timelines and the shift to regulated 20 or 30 gallon garbage cans with lids to curb health issues. Selvig, serving since 1944 as justice and previously on the Police Pension Board, lives with his wife Charlaine at 14537 Lowe with son Robert a Southern Illinois University freshman. He works as a design engineer for the Whiling Corporation in Harvey and belongs to several local groups.
