John O'Brien Dies Veteran Railway Conductor
John P. O'Brien of Dalton former yardmaster and longtime C E I railroad conductor died Sunday after cataract surgery. He championed Safety First, faced a switchmen strike with comrades, and died at 62 leaving a widow two children a brother and three sisters. Funeral at St Marys Riverdale with Requiem High Mass and Rosehill interment. He was active in Switchmen Union Knights of Columbus Eagles Moose and Knights and Ladies of Security.
