Boy Drowns at Clay Hole in Dolton Local Workings
Russell Harry Jacobsma aged 13 of Dolton died after swimming with a friend at the Illinois Brick Co yard clay hole. Despite rescue efforts by bystanders and emergency crews, including Chief Ehlert and Dr. Thomsen, he could not be revived. He was a Lincoln Avenue school senior, active in Dal ton M. E. church and Boy Scouts Troop No. 1. He is survived by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at his home and Dalton M. E. church with interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Thornton.

Mrs Gustav Albrecht 69 of 518 Oak Street Dolton died Tuesday after a brief illness. She lived in Dolton over 50 years and was born December 28 1860 in Braskenburg Germany. She leaves her husband three sons Frank Edward Walter, three grandchildren and a brother John Dahms of Whiting. Funeral services at their home and St Pauls Lutheran Church conducted by Rev Kemnitz. Interment Oakland Cemetery.

Water Shut Off Sunday for Riverdale Dalton Supply
The city water department announces Riverdale and Dalton water will be shut off Sunday May 18 from 6 am until sometime that night to connect the new Illinois Central water main. Last Sunday the south side connection was finished with only a few hours of outage. This Sunday the north side connection may take longer.
