Mrs. Albert Sokol Dies After Pneumonia Illness

The Albert Sokol family mourns as Mrs. Sokol dies at St. Margaret's hospital Hammond after a week with pneumonia. Mad dog causes chase through South Holland area

On May 6 a dog in South Holland behaved aggressively, fighting other dogs and approaching dairy cows near the Calumet river. Local resident Peter Van Drunen shot the animal after tracking it for half a mile. Authorities advise residents with bitten dogs to monitor them. A Bunco party is announced for May 27 at Dalton village hall with prizes and refreshments.

Death of Dalton Resident Max Staab at 71

Max Staab a longtime Dalton resident of 42 years died Monday May 9 at his home 561 Lincoln avenue aged 71 after a paralytic stroke from long standing toxic goitre He was a retired cabinet maker with 25 years at Full Man Co and later a crossing watchman for Western Indiana R A He was born in Bavaria Germany emigrating in 1883 to Elmira NY then Chicago He leaves widow Anna Staab three sons Theodore Milwaukee Charles and Joseph Chicago two daughters Mary Mrs Rudolph Van Dam and Anna Mrs Harold Foresburg Roseland 12 grandchildren three goat grandchildren and many neighbors Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm at the house and 230 pm at Immanuel Church Interment Cedar Park Cemetery.
