Narrow Escape for Local Horse Shoer Amid Rail Crossing Crash
Peter Nielsen of 436 West 110th Street narrowly escaped serious injury when his Plymouth coupe was crushed between a coal car and a caboose at the Western Indiana tracks near 138th Street. Nielsen walked away with only minor head bruises after signals allegedly misled him. The wreck is at Twin City garage and Chief Ehlert ordered Nielsen home.

New Bridge Planned Over Thorn Creek at 167th Street
Thornton township officials announce a new bridge over Thorn Creek at 167th street to start as early as May. They will replace the 1930 Lincoln avenue bridge with a larger span bought from the Sanitary District, approved by Chief County Highway Engineer George Quinlan. Estimated cost for the Thorn Creek crossing is $5,100, with the rebuilt bridge costing less.
