Arthur J. Waggoner and Robert Christiansen, both Indiana Harbor Belt railroad workers, confessed to killing Special Agents Peter Maloney and Barney Dolan on January 27. The case led to 25 railroad employees being arrested and charges alleging $25,000 worth of stolen foodstuffs.

Our Saviour's Lutheran church plans to dedicate a new altar and chairs Sunday morning. Dr. John B. Seibert Missionary Superintendent of The Northern Illinois Synod will preach the sermon. The former pastor and Synod president Rev. Geo P. Kabele will preach in the evening. Members invite all to attend especially those without a church home.

St Mary’s Parish outlines Passion Sunday schedule with a morning low Mass at 545 and high Mass at 800 followed by sermons and communion.
