Beatrice Smith attended in a gold dress Clifton Hardin was best man. After short honeymoon the groom left for Boston to return to Navy duty.

Twenty three Thornton Township high school juniors and seniors were inducted into Quill and Scroll, the national honorary for high school journalists. Members include James Baker, Mary Whitford, and Mary Zinn among others from Dolton, Harvey, Flossmoor, Homewood, Oak Forest, Riverdale, Tinley Park, and South Holland. The initiation featured talks by Roy Herzog, Andrey Scholefield, Lois Perkins, and Eleanor Salow, with August Vishek and Carol VanderKloot presiding.

Funeral services for Benedict Jagodzinski were held at St Marys church Riverdale after a long illness. He was born March 7 1858 in Runowo Germany and came to America over fifty years ago. Survivors include two sisters and a niece. Interment was at St Benedicts cemetery Blue Island. Also celebrated were birthdays and a stork shower with details of attendees in Dalton Riverdale and Blue Island communities.
