The Dalton Riverdale Junior Woman's Club held its February general meeting on Tuesday February 23 at 8 pm presided by President Mrs Richard Bhekene Contestants modeled for judges and audience First prize went to Mrs William Olsen for a three piece reaversted ensemble second prize to Mrs Richard Lussenhop for an oatmeal woolweed suit and matching hat third to Mrs Robert Nelson for a Navy wool flannel suit Olsen advances to the 3rd District judging in late March Drama chair Mrs Robert Bruyn announced a 3rd District drama entry presenting a scene from The Terrible Meek by Charles R Kennedy to be staged March 16 at 8 pm in Palmer Park field house Charity chair Mrs Chris Bonow announced Easter egg donation and decorations for West Side Veterans Hospital plus paperback book drive for veterans to be delivered April 16 Community members may donate at Mrs Chris Konow or Mrs Kenneth Smith Jared Benedict thanked members for theater party support Nominating committee appointed for new officers: Mrs Richard Musker Mrs Robert Bruyn Mrs Karl Westberg Mrs Robert Nelson and Miss Opal Oehler

Illinois Bell Telephone will open a new business office at 75 East 137th street Riverdale to serve Dalton and Riverdale customers starting Monday March 7. All business will be transacted at the new office on and after March. For the convenience of Dolton customers a contract collection service is arranged at The Wishing Well 14131 Lincoln Dolton where bills can be paid.

Evening Classes Grow in Thornton Community
Evening classes at Thornton attract 1441 enrollments in the second semester, remaining below last year's first term but above last year's second term. Junior college subjects dominate, with offerings in mathematics through calculus, multiple English courses, and various electives. Industrial Electronics debuts with strong turnout as noncredit classes rise, and a new Spanish course joins programs along with physical fitness and crafts for couples.
Bennett to Compete in Rifle Match at Illinois Urbana
L Bennett of Riverdale Illinois, a senior electric engineering major at Rose Polytech Institute, will join the rifle team at the eleventh annual invitational match on Saturday February 27 at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.

The Dolton Riverdale Woman's Club will meet at the Dolton Park fieldhouse on Thursday evening March 10 at 8 o clock with Mrs Henry Fotraike presiding. Mrs Frank Kramer Literary Chairman will present the program and Mrs Clarence Brown will review the book Two Thousand Tongues to Go. Also that evening Mrs Gordon Brady will hold an Occupational Therapy Sale of materials made by Oak Forest inmates at the Third District Therapy Shop. Some people think the ideal occupation is one that doesn't keep them occupied.
