Edward Bachmann a Riverdale resident for 63 years died at his son Otto Bachmanns home in Tinley Park on June 17 at age 85 years 7 months and 10 days He came to America in 1862 lived with his uncle Frederick Rau married Elizabeth Wetzle in 1869 His wife died 18 years ago He leaves three sons Henry Blue Island George Harvey Ill Otto Tinley Park 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren Funeral services were held June 19 at St Pauls church conducted by Rev Kemnitz Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery

Confidence man fleeces shopper at Lentier’s trocery store
A stranger posed as a customer in Richard Lentier’s trocery store on Indiana Avenue last Thursday. He traded a twenty dollar bill for twenty singles, then left with a roll of singles missing two dollars. Mrs. Lentier opened an envelope awaiting the buyer’s return and found it empty, marking a successful con and a loss of twenty dollars.
