A bust of Cardinal Hayes by Hungarian sculptor Alexander Finta has been presented to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum accepts the bust but will not exhibit portraits of living persons until after the cardinal’s death.
Chicago reports outline a settlement between Rosenbaum Grain corporation and Armour Grain company. Armours will pay 1 600 000 to Rosenbaum per an arbitrator award, with Rosenbaum to acquire Armour elevators and warehousing space. He plans direct farmer dealings but not stock sales, financing through Chicago banks. Illinois commerce commission sanction required. Transfer details not to be affected by pending Springfield legislation.

Commissioner Joseph L. Locher signs dated July 1, 1927.
