Dolton Moves Ahead With Water Main Project
Dolton village board approved an agreement with Lands & Homes Inc to fund part of a sewer and water mains project in the New Chicago subdivision. The company pays $1,000 now and $1,250 in 1939 and 1940 with about $500 in 1941, in return for water supply improvements and anticipated tax and fire-protection benefits for residents.

Robert Volkmar dies after long illness in Riverdale
Robert Volkmar 69 longtime Riverdale resident died Monday January 9 at 10 p m at his home after a prolonged illness. Born June 30 1919 he is survived by parents Herman and (maiden) Volkmar three brothers Harry Wilbur and David. A Thorn ton Township High School graduate class of 1988, his body lay in Jacobsma funeral home with services held today at 2 p m and burial in Oakland cemetery.
