Chicago Capitalists Plan 900 Foot Dirigible for New York Run
A Chicago group formed the American Dirigible corporation to manufacture a 900 foot long, 500 passenger airship with 19 million cubic feet helium capacity. The hull will be steel and duralumin, powered by ten 800 hp motors plus eight 300 hp aids, aiming to fly Chicago to New York in a day. A hangar near Matteson and a San Francisco extension are planned, with Diesel engines and water landings possible at airportless cities.

Fredericka Christina Krueger aged 75 died February 14 1930 at her son Franks home in Dalton after years of ill health. Born January 20 1855 in Wolphagen Pommern Germany she emigrated to America in 1873 marrying Joachim F Krueger in 1877. Survived by three sons Louis Albert and Frank eight grandchildren and many friends. Funeral at St Pauls Lutheran Church officiated by Rev Kemnitz with interment at Oakland Cemetery.

Retired Lutheran minister Rev Karl F Keller of Riverdale died February 14 at South Shore hospital aged 74 years 5 months and 18 days. Born August 26 1855 in Columbia Illinois he entered Springfield seminary in 1875 and was ordained in 1882. He served Thornton Illinois before retirement.

Ivanhoe Civic Club Elects New Officers in January Meeting
The Ivanhoe Civic Club elected Gerald E. Byrne as president Raymond Larson as secretary John Torpy and A Parker as trustees on January 20. Retiring officers were thanked and new leaders welcomed. The Riverdale village board now lights 144th street all night and the club aided the effort. Senator Barbour broke ground for five houses with more planned. Ray Larson builds homes and promotes his work.

Marine's Log: Nearly Four Years in Service and China Skirmishes
Ernest Slusser, home on furlough, reports a four year Marine career starting July 1926. He served in Mare Island, Iowa N Y, Lakehurst, then China with the 81st machine gun battery, joined the Asiatic fleet, and later sailed to Europe aboard the U S Pittsburgh. He guarded the Graf Zeppelin at Lakehurst before returning to Boston Navy Yard. His brother William also joined in 1926 and is later in California hospital care.

The Bowen school Riverdale and the Berger school of Dalton have completed arrangements for a radio program to be aired Sunday February 23 at 2 p.m. over station WHFC the Voice of the West Towns in Cicero.
