Dolton approves plan revamp for sewer system project

Dolton board decides to revamp the proposed 485000 sewer system plans to avoid lengthy condemnation lawsuits. County Court rejection triggers new proceedings as engineers redraw plans to speed development amid pressure from local real estate interests. Charles Rose, 57, of Dolton and Ridge, died February 14, 1927, after long illness. Funeral held at Bachman’s chapel and Immanuel church with interment at Oakland cemetery. Rose was a longtime Dolton resident and Woodmen Camp member.

Wreck Blocks Thornton Freight Train. No One Injured

A Chicago Heights bound coal and freight train derailed near Thornton at 4 30 a m last Wednesday. Nine cars piled up across the tracks, smashing a concrete block garage and damaging autos. crews cleared the line for fast trains while thousands viewed the wreck. No serious injuries reported.

Held Friday February 4 to celebrate the corps twenty first anniversary with Della Deam in charge and sixteen past presidents assisting. Death of Fred Wesse Jr. Shocks Dalton Community

The sudden death of 32 year old Fred Wesse Jr. after a brief illness of influenza of the stomach followed a World War service. He leaves a widow, his father Fred Wesse, four brothers and four sisters, and many relatives. Funeral services were held at the Delton M. E. church with interment at Oaklawn cemetery near Thornton.
