Illinois Turf association releases Chicago racing dates

Charles W. Bidwell announced the summer schedule for the Illinois Turf association. Chicago districts total 152 racing days with Aurora from April 21 to May 31, Homewood June 1–30, Lincoln Fields July 2–Aug 18, Hawthorne Aug 15–Sept 3, Homewood Sept 5–24, and Hawthorne Sept 26–Oct 15. Opening 184th Street Promised by City Officials

A Dalton Riverdale Chamber delegation urged the Board of Local Improvements and Public Works to open 184th Street. Officials pledged to expedite appellate court actions to connect Halsted Street to Hegewisch, aiming to link Torrence Avenue road work to a cross street.

Dalton Board Delays Water Reservoir Bid Award

The Dalton Board, led by President Krueger, opened three bids for a new water reservoir and pumping station near the Village hall. Van Etten Bros asked 38,290 dollars, Kraay and Livers 35,590 dollars, and Kuhn Bros 38,884 dollars. The contract decision was postponed to February 21 for bid review including a connecting water main from Indiana Avenue.
