The Dolton Riverdale Chamber of Commerce held a well attended smoker and luncheon at the Village hall last Tuesday. Attorney O F Reich and Secretary Clarence P Bayne spoke, with Reich praising George Washington and sharing an illustrated Europe trip with his son Paul Frederick. The Dalton School Boys Band provided patriotic music and Woodshed served top refreshments.

Alderman Govier Wins by Large Majority in Primary
Alderman Govier was elected with 9,304 votes last Tuesday, a margin of 7,291 over the two challengers. He carried Riverdale with 100 votes, while opponents Thomas had 10 and Klinger 17. William Hale Thompson won the Republican nomination for mayor by a 180,900 majority. Mayor Dever was renominated by a large Democratic majority. The general election is set for April 5.

Death of Charles Stone Railroad Conductor at 43
Charles Stone a well known railroad man died February 22 at St Francis hospital Blue Island aged 43. He had ill health for years and was hospitalized a month ago with slim hopes. He belonged to Masonic Odd Fellows Switchmen Union and was popular with many friends. He worked as conductor in Michigan Central Yards until illness ended his career. Funeral services were at Bachmans Chapel Thursday evening and his body was taken to Coropolis Pennsylvania, his boyhood home, for burial. He leaves a widow his aged mother four sisters and one brother. Mrs Louis Corviveau accompanied Mrs Stone to Coropolis.

A. J. Wiegert a 21 year old South Holland man and night yard clerk at Haney was injured when his motorcycle skidded at the P R R crossing in Riverdale. He suffered a fractured skull and other serious injuries and remained unconscious for hours.
