Thornridge High School Candlelight Christmas Concert

Thornridge High School music department presents a Candlelight Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday in the new auditorium at Sibley and Cottage Grove in Dalton. The mixed chorus freshman and girls choruses wear iridescent gray-blue robes. curtains and backdrops are installed. An organ recital precedes the program at 3:30, featuring improvisations on Christmas carols recorded by John Belland. Soloists include Barbara Scholl Charles Kerber and Jerry Miller with instrumentalists James Needham Ronald Deroing Charles Johnson and Kenneth Wallin.

St Pauls to Stage Special Christmas Services and Choir

St Paul Lutheran Church announces a series of Christmas observances with a children's service on December 18 at 4 and 6 pm and a December 24 service at 7 30 pm by the Christian Day School children. December 25 follows the regular Sunday schedule with two English services at 8 and 10 45 am and a German service at 9 18 am. No Sunday School on Christmas Day.

Born in Indianapolis moved to Peru Indiana in grade school and has lived in the community nineteen years. Lincoln Manor PTA Meeting Announces December Session

The Lincole Manor PTA will meet for the last time this year on Tuesday December 20 at 745 pm in the Lincsin School auditorium. A fifth grade musical program directed by Mrs Lois Trestor will be presented. Girl Scouts of Troop 177 participate in flag ceremonies with refreshments after in the lunchroom.

District 148 Choral Program to Spotlight Young Singers

The District 148 Christmas choral program, directed by Americo J. Meneghini, will be held at Lincoln School auditorium 14151 Lincoln Ave on Sunday December 18 at 1 30 p m. The event features traditional Christmas music with Spanish selections and foreign language elements as part of the district wide language program. Vocal instruction runs from 4th to 8th grade with two supervised periods weekly and includes soloists and small groups. Mrs Lois Trester will accompany. parents and friends are invited.

Thornridge Puts Landscaping Plan Forward With Ike League Aid

Thornridge High School officials and the Izaak Walton League outline a school landscaping program and spring work plan. Funds will be raised to start projects with four student representatives and faculty support. The group also approves sponsoring an American Field Service exchange for 1961 1962 with four representatives named.

Robbery Report From South Holland Station Heist

Two men robbed Doster's Service Station on Rowe 6 and Emerald around 1 a.m. Saturday. They took a money changer containing about 150 dollars, ripped the phone from the wall, and fled on foot. The wife of the attendant overheard the robbery on the station radio and alerted police. A getaway car was suspected though not found. The money changer was later found at 162nd and Cottage Grove. The robbers were described as a very dark skinned pair, one 18 or 19, six feet tall, the other 23 or 24, five feet nine, both weighing about 160 to 175 pounds.

The Madri gal Singers of Thornridge high school appeared on a 5 minute WIND radio show from Chicago this Wednesday at 8 15 pm. Riverdale Board Hears on City Dump Case and Jurisdiction

At the Riverdale Village Board meeting on December 13 two Riversdale Area Property Owners Association members sought details on the 138th and Ashland dump. Village attorney Herbert F. Zornow said the owner faces a first court hearing December 14 in Chicago Municipal Court and a temporary injunction suit would follow. John Roberts of Pace setter Gardens Association offered cooperation to alleviate the condition, and B&G railroad workers who suffered smoke and odor would testify for Chicago.
