James Roark age 4 of 15217 Dearborn South Holland sustained head injuries in a Friday morning collision on 14th Street Riverdale. He rode with his father Stanley J. Roark who failed to see a car stopping ahead. the other driver was Ronald J. Angotti of 10831 Avenue L Chicago Riverdale police reported.
A nine year old girl in Glenwood says a man in a car attempted to pick her up on Sunday December 4. Police identified the suspect as John F. McAnnalley of Cottage Grove and Glenwood Dyer Road. he was held on a $240 bond for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of an open liquor bottle, with a hearing set for Wednesday in Chicago Heights.
Dolton Park will sponsor weekly outdoor ice skating at the Dorchester Club rink from Dec 15 through spring. Registration is Saturday December 10 from 10 am to 5 pm at the north administration building. Open to boys and girls of all ages. season fee is 2 dollars. Admission cards issued at registration. A special election will be held Saturday December 17 1950 in School District No 149 to approve five propositions authorizing bonds totaling 1 950 000 for new classrooms. Provisions include a Berger site school of about 16 rooms by 1961 and others at Waterman Feeder and Calumet City South Feeder sites with sizes up to 25 rooms and Caroline Sibley additions, contingent on tax impact and district growth. Polls open 12 noon to 7 pm.
Hazel D. Rausher, former assistant editor of The POINTER, died Friday afternoon December 2 at her home in Chicago area after a prolonged illness. She and her husband Arthur edited and published The POINTER for 11 years from 1948 until last March when they sold the paper. Born September 17, 1895 in Homer Illinois, she is survived by husband Arthur two children and nine sisters. Funeral services were held at Carlson Funeral Home with Rev Bruce Jones officiating.
