Seeding a New Lawn with Manure and Fertilizer

For new lawns, apply about 4 bushels of well rotted manure per 100 square feet and till into soil. Before seeding, mix 2 to 8 pounds of garden fertilizer per 100 square feet. If manure is unavailable, use about double the fertilizer. This boosts early growth and feeds the grass for years.
