High Desert Bicycles Moves to Albuquerque West Side

Albuquerque shop High Desert Bicycles plans to move from Rio Rancho to 6624 Caminito Coors near Coors and Paseo del Norte. The building, formerly Bikes Plus and Bike World, will be renovated for a staged opening aiming by October 1, while the Louisiana Boulevard NE location remains open.

UNM Offers Free Flu Shot Clinics Across Albuquerque Area

UNM Hospital announces more than two dozen free flu vaccination clinics in October and November across Albuquerque, including two West Side events at McMahon Blvd and Unser Blvd. NW. Clinics welcome ages 6 months and up, with drive-through options on Oct. 3 and 17. Additional sites include Family Practice Center, North Valley, and Northeast Heights locations, plus hospital Ambulatory Care Clinics schedule. Doctor Meghan Brett notes no expected vaccine shortages and 35,000 doses planned.

Famous Footwear opens new Rio Rancho store in NM

Famous Footwear celebrates its first Rio Rancho outlet at 3575 NM 528 Plaza Enchanted Hills. A 10 a.m. Saturday grand opening features a ribbon cutting, free shoes for the first 100 guests, a raffle, a live DJ, and KMGA 99.5 Magic FM. This 5,000 square foot store is the seventh in New Mexico and runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

UNM Welcomes Nurse Midwife Lisa Bishop at Westside Clinic

Lisa Bishop a certified nurse midwife with 15 years at Women's Specialists of New Mexico will begin seeing patients mid October on Fridays at UNM Hospital Westside Clinic. She has helped deliver over 1500 babies in Albuquerque is a Penn State graduate with an MSN and midwifery certificate. She speaks Spanish and some Portuguese.
