Walmart arrest ends in death under Bernalillo police custody

A man died after being taken into custody at a Walmart Supercenter in Bernalillo following a struggle with officers. CPR was administered as police seek to determine cause of death with Rio Rancho police asked to investigate. The incident follows an alleged disturbance at a nearby fast food restaurant and a vehicle crash near the store.

T J Maxx Opens at Plaza Enchanted Hills Rio Rancho

T J Maxx will open at 3575 NM 528 in Rio Rancho, the first in the city and the fourth in New Mexico, joining stores in Albuquerque Santa Fe and Farmington. The 24500 square foot shop will hire about 60 employees and operate 8 am to 8 pm Sunday, with regular hours 9:30 am to 9:30 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm Sunday.

Rio Rancho CAP Receives Two RC Planes From Veterans Group

The Rio Rancho Civil Air Patrol Falcon Composite Squadron got two remote-control planes from the Rio Rancho Veterans Coffee Group. The planes will serve as hands-on visual aids to teach cadets about direction-control surfaces and aviation orientation. David Millner, ARVCG member, is deputy commander for cadets for the CAP, and ARVCG notes CAP’s Congressional Gold Medal award. Coffee group bought and inspected the planes, delivering them as training aids for CAP missions and leadership development.
