More than 86 percent of Rio Rancho Public Schools staff signed cards seeking a union prompting a petition to the Public Employees Labor Relations Board. The proposed Rio Rancho School Employees Union would be a joint venture of the New Mexico Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association of New Mexico, including clerical staff custodians and educational assistants.
