Benke's lifelong pursuit of storytelling in New Mexico
Writer Benke, a Newport-born journalist turned Albuquerque Journal copy editor, discusses his path from Pasadena High to Northwestern, then the AP, and finally New Mexico. He notes interviewing famed authors, focusing on New Mexico history, and writing novels like Ghost Ocean and City of Stone. A Sept. 20 signing at Bookworks offers a chance to meet the author.
