Rio Rancho High School and coach John Shepard suffered a 2 1 overtime loss to Clovis in the season opener. The Rams played on a large field, faced conditioning issues, and a late overtime goal by Mika Millender decided the game. The Rams travel to Los Alamos for a weekend two day tournament.
St. Pius X High School girls soccer opened with a 2-0 defeat to Sandia High. Coach David Sullivan remains optimistic noting eight returning ill players.
