About 100 children joined a one day fishing clinic at Paradise Hills Community Center. Renee Arias, five, was among the participants as volunteers stocked the pool with about 150 Rainbow Trout and taught fly tying casting boat safety water pollution and fish biology. The event promoted fishing over drugs through the DARE program.
Sun Tran will begin a 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Park and Ride service from AMREP Southwest at 21st Ave and NM 528 to downtown Albuquerque UNM and Kirtland AFB. A 20 acre balloon park site north of Northern Boulevard between 16th and 17th Avenues will be dedicated at sunrise during the Jingle Bell Balloon Rally on December 10. Rio Rancho residents and AMREP Southwest officials helped choose and will lease the land for $1 per year, with dedication set for December 10 during a two day event featuring more than 150 balloons.
