District seeks state funds for Rio Rancho schools
Rio Rancho Public Schools will ask the state for emergency capital funds to address a building shortage. The board considers a $12 million request from the Critical Capital Outlay Committee to finish a middle school and replace Mountain View Middle School, with potential direct state aid for a full high school. The district plans to use portable classrooms meanwhile and seeks a level playing field to close a 15 year building lag with nine elementary schools, three middle schools and a high school.
